What I liked most about this article is the encouragement of SL BDMS people to meet RL BDSMers and vice versa. Time is only wasted when one group disrespects another when they can be gaining mutually instead. Keep up the great work!

Very nice article. I’m myself a sub and often return to my SL home downhearted, by the amount of crap that is sold, from a shopping trip.
From the mentioned creators i only knew two of them. Would it be possible to link to such shops in an article?
Lucian, I hand picked the Femdom animation and toy designers that are located over at Dominion Fetish. All of the big ones are there and they are all high quality. I would definitely recommend that as the first stop for anyone looking for Femdom items.

Mistress Lisa refers in her post to the munch of the femdom group she founded nearly a decade ago. LADs. The style of LADs munch has been the inspiration for the weekly munch I host as a duchess at the Velvet Thorn in SL. Mistress Lisa’s welcoming attitude and the high standards the circle of LADs Leaders set for the group inspire everyone who comes.

In my experience, I learned that some Femdom believe that slaves are stupid and must obey any command. This is true, but it is also true that the commands must be given by the degree of affinity that is created. Unfortunately, in Second Life there are many people who believe that the role of the Mistress is higher than that of the slave, but not absolutely so. Two roles are of equal importance, even though it was completely opposite. A slave without a Mistress is nothing. A Mistress is nothing without a slave.
I appreciate the discussion on switching as it seems to me to have a bad rap in the BDSM community. There are probably many more switches out there who are afraid to let others know.

This is a very well researched and well written article. It was nice to see fact and case law rather than oppinion. I learned a few things to protect myself and partners when conducting lifestyle as well as proDomme BDSM as a result from this article. Good common sense normally prevails normally, but it is critical to know that the the legal system in the US is not quite up the common sense test.
Let’s all be careful out there!
Ms Broome and Ms Eames well done! And thank You both.

There’s nothing colder than just abandoning someone on SL–especially if it’s someone you care deeply for, a sub or a Domme. I had a close friend do this, and found out later she was logging in on alts, and I was devastated. I recently had the memory of it come flooding back to me when my submissive got very ill–he becomes avoidant when he’s sick, and I didn’t get his text messages. Luckily I had RL contact information. There is absolutely no excuse for abandoning someone without a word. If you’re asking someone to trust you so deeply that you’ve ask them to wear your collar or you’re wearing theirs, you are in a position to damage their trust. SL is not “just a game” and the people in it are not cartoons who disappear when you shut your computer off. I am SO sorry that you had this experience.

Fascinating article…. Interesting that none of the cited cases involved lifestyle dommes or female domination within the confines of either marriage or ‘continuing relationships’, though — absent a complainant and evidence — I suppose even the most zealous campaigner would have trouble bringing that to a court of law.

@Doc Nolan
You’re right. I think I found all of the reported BDSM cases for the United States, even if we didn’t use them in the article, but I never ran across a F/m version. I did see a couple marriages and several long-term relationships that were either M/f or M/m. I tend to think it’s because men feel embarrassed to make that sort of domestic violence report against women, the same as in vanilla relationships. Then again, maybe Dommes are just being more careful in seeking out partners, as I wasn’t finding the F/f variety either.

What is a Girl to do, now that She can no longer ponytrain Her husband at the OWK grounds? No more “best whipped male ass” contests…..
I visited the OWK Myself and celebrated Femdom there. So did lots of My Friends.
It is a great loss that the OWK has closed its enormous doors.
If they ever re-open… You Ladies all better visit.

Nuala, Kudos to you on the professional attitude and skills you brought to this article. Your work would be graded “A”, if it were a
magazine article writing class assignment.
While I am familiar with financial domination, I was not aware of the risks a domina faces. I am glad you looked at the topic from many angles.
WELL DONE!!!! hugs, Raffi
The clothing does more than add to the fantasy. Leather clothing gives an air of authority and makes you “untouchable”. Latex clothing feeds fetishes. Both set you apart from the average bossy woman on the street.
Many folks do see ProDommes as glorified escorts. They don’t know what the term Dominatrix means so they relate it to the closest thing they understand.
Lifestylers tend to disagree with ProDomme sessions for several reasons. MOST ProDommes openly engage in illegal activity such as golden showers and using strap-ons to engage in anal sex with clients. Then they deny they are doing anything illegal or engaging in prostitution even though local state laws explicitly define it as such. Also there are a good number of ProDommes who are not properly trained, have no real interest in the scene outside of making money, have bad attitudes and troll for clients at lifestyle parties (a big no-no). In other cases I think there is more than a little bit of jealousy because, let’s face it, ProDommes oftentimes have awesome toys, outfits and dungeons—your average lifestylers wouldn’t have a place to put it all if they could afford it. For a ProDomme it’s a business expense.
Good article, thanks for posting.

About FEMDOM HUD-DELUXE by .::ONIRIA SHOP::.
Hi. That’s the first time I writte a comment about anything here, but…. I do it because I’m totally disagree with the article about this item.
I have it sice October 2010, since ONIRIA SHOP launch it, and…. really I don’t understand the bad reviews posted on the magazine’s article.
About balls…. I don’t know where they test it, but in my case, THE BALLS APPEARS JUST WHERE THEY MUST BE, not four meters from the furniture, and I know what I’m talking about, because I use it very regularly, in any SIM that allows me to rez objects.
About the sequenced anims….. Are they too hard for you?…. Maybe, but not for me. That’s the only HUD I find with different sequences anims, where you (dom), among other things, jump over the shoulders of your sub, you throw down, you move over it to finish by the throat gently with your legs, and all in a full long sequence anim.
In another sequence, you still standing and he kneeling, you give it a kick in his shoulder, he strips down and moving over it, you end up sitting on his face ….
Too hard??…. I do not think so, are different and interesting to use these sequences when we want, not all day every day.
I really think is very interesting HUD and, if you don’t understand anything, you can ask to creator AULEN HELENDALE, she was very pleasent with me with some questions.
You can try it before buy it, because there is a DEMO in the shop to check it.
I leave here the shop LM, because I think the best way is all of you check it by yourself (for all readers of the magazine): http://slurl.com/secondlife/Glitnir/173/166/22

Hi everubody. I’m the creator of FEMDOM HUD DELUXE, from ONIRIA SHOP.
I can understand perfectly that somebody think some anims are too hard, there’s no discusion about it (each one has it own preferences), but I’m not agree about “but about four meters from the poses”.
Please, I invite everybody to check it in the shop, you can use the full menu (there is a DEMO to check)…. and you can see if the anims and furniture are not where they must be. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Glitnir/173/166/22

Well written article. i would like to warn my submissive brothers to be very careful when gifting to strangers for a couple reasons. One, She could use get used to it and resort to blackmail to feed Her addiction if you decide to quit. She probably will have a lot of info. on you as a result. Second, you need money to survive and you aren’t any help to a WOman if you are drained. So think long and hard, pun intended.
